Uhm Oil Disappearing

checked my oil today, only to find it lower than i could ever imagine. Just had it changed not too long ago and its not running rich....no smoke, no leaks.....what is the deal? completely stumped. :nixweiss:

How many miles between your change and checking it. Under hard driving you could consume 1qt/750-1000 miles

I STOLE IT!!!!! j/k, this may sound stupid, but you are checking your oil when your car is on a completely flat driveway or garage, right? Our cars do go through oil, although in order to burn a quart I'd imagine you'd have to be pushing her pretty damn hard for those 750 miles. (I drive very spirited at least once a week for a sustained distance/time, and I sure don't burn a quart in 750)

Same thing with mine (99Cp 51k Miles). Mine goes through a quart every 1500 miles or so and I accelerate hard at least a few times every week.

I was told by a BMW tech that if you drive very hard that is the spec. I know my oil consumption varies depending on what I am doing. Typically I drive the piss out of it.

Yes, under BMW spec it's something like a quart to ever 1,000 miles is okay.
