Weird noise when put in reverse

Today when I jumped in my car after it was on for about 5 mins, I put the thing in reverse and hear this "grinding" type of noise, almost as when you shift and the clutch is not in all the way. I've heard the noise before and thought it was the clutch not in all the way - I definitely made sure the clutch was in.



Happened to anyone? Any idears?

either your clutch is bad, or your transmission is low

Is it a loud grinding noise? Mine is an automatic and makes a noise in reverse on very cold mornings. It has for some time now. Doesn't seem to be affecting anything else though.

Transmission low meaning low on on fluid. If an auto is making that noise, its likely the pump.
