New M3 owner with some ?'s

Im sure its already been discussed on these forums but i just bought a 1995 BMW M3. Ive been driving it for 3 days now and couldnt be happier just would like to get a little more power out of it. Ive heard that one of the best mods for an auto is gears, but dont know of any brands. Also ive heard chip, intake, and exhaust do wonders on these cars. Anyway im just looking for some brand names and some dealers so i can learn a little bit about my new car. Any advice is appreciated.

Best first mod you could do is to upgrade the suspension its quite amazing how much power you lose through the rear squatting

What suspension setup would ya'll recomend. The car already bottoms out on the occasional speed bump so i dont want to go much lower. I was thinking eibach springs, with a nice set of adjustable shocks.

I think the chip makes a nice difference on the 95. Intake will give you a few HP. Exhaust will give little gain.. Konis are good shocks. Eibach makes good springs. Make sure you have good roads before stiffening things up. Check all bushings and linkages, and make sure your tires are top notch before spending dough on other stuff.

I agree with salty, check the basics before modding. the other way I learned a lot about the car was talking it to a track events. the M is a great car in stock form. a track event will show the limits of and capabilities of your M. who knows - you might find that the car rocks, as is.

check bf.c right now, one of our local guys is selling a full turner/conforti intake w/3.5", injectors etc for around $800. That is best bag for the buck in my opinion.

If you have an auto and really want to feel more power, gears would be your best bet.

Please explain more about what do you mean by " rear squatting " that leads to such a loss of power ..

when the rear of the car squats during acceleration. Best Mod=5spd
