    Frozen Caliper

Has anyone had experience with frozen calipers on their M?

I washed my car (got the calipers wet) and let it sit for about a week, and upon driving it i found that my driver's front caliper was a bit lazy. When i pulled it i realized it was in fact on its way to being entirely frozen, and therefore will need to be replaced. I have a feeling it was getting a little worn out and the flash rust from sitting just kinda did it. What should i expect to pay for a decent reman caliper?

Turner Motorsports sells new oem calipers for $179 or you can try to rebuild it for alot less.

Thanks.. i have seen remans for anywheer from 45-120. The car is under wty, so i am gonna just see what the wty company wants to do. If i was paying for i'd rebuild them, but i think the main problem is that the slides are pretty crusty from the winter.

do you think i should do both fronts? or count this as a fluke?

Yep. Had a frozen rear caliper. Bought the rebuild kit for a few bucks and fixed it myself. Easy as can be and very effective.

          Good luck

yeh i was gonna do that, but its under warranty.. so i am not even gonna play with rebuilding that one. i am howvere contemplating rebuilding or replacing the other front caliper, speculating that it might be on its way out as well. what do you think? any truth that these things die inpairs? with other vehicles that i've had i usually just replace the offending part, but i know this car is a bit different.
