I'm probably going to take my car to an independant shop soon for an Inspection/Tune Up. My car currently has 21,XXX miles. I believe I've seen where an Inspection I costs ~$250. My question is how much more should it cost to have certain premium things used. What I mean is, I want to use Iridium plugs, Redline Tranny and diff. oil, and anything else I can think of/someone recomends. Also, what are the main things that should be done? Brakes bled? Coolant Flushed? TIA for the help.

How ever much more the parts cost.... there should be no difference in labor just because you're using a different set of plugs or aftermarket fluids... -

i had a bad experience with iridium plugs. before i put them on, my bmw mechanic said that they dont recommend them. still i insisted cuz, hey, they're 'iridium' and suppose to be good. After about 3 weeks, i had some noticeable loss of power so i brought the car back to the shop. he checked my spark plugs and they were burnt really bad (the color was deep black...in just 3 weeks!). i had them replaced with dealer sparks and the problem never came back ever since (4 months now).Comment
