Screwed out of a M3 (Massachusetts)

Looks like I won't be getting my 98' M3. I live in Boston, 25 and got my license last year. My insurance quote was $4K+ a year.

So unless something dramatic happens, like I find someone to add me to their insurance until I move back to NYC. No M3 for me. Sad day. :banghead:

What's really jacked up.. is to put a 98 on my policy it would be $999 over 6months. To do an 01/02 it goes up only 150/6 months.

I live in SOCAL and my insurance for my 02 CAB fully covered is under $300 every 6 months, do you have a lot of tickets and under 25? :nixweiss:

if you just got your drivers license last year, your high insurance rate is probably attributed to your lack of driving history.

Take several driver courses tat the insurance company will recognize and give you a break as a result. Contact AAA or some other drivers' organization and see if there's something like a course or courses you can take to increase the company's confidence in your driving...

Don't tell them you went to a "track event," however..

Mercury try Farmers too, I had them last year and they were a little better but not that good on homeowners.

Its $218 every 6 months to be exact. Remember though it depends where you live. I'm in Valencia, when I lived in Beverly Hills it was about the same as yours $800+ for 6 months reason being more accidents and upscale neighborhood if you hit someone it would be either a Ferrari, Mercedes, or Porsche. :banghead:

                Good luck!

Here is a quote in NYC from Geico...for some reason I think I answered one of their questions incorrectly. Doesn't seem right.

                  Total Premium for Vehicle $6,598.00

                  Total Premium $6,603.00

I guess if I really want the M3 I should **** it up and pay the $4K. I just cant justify paying nearly 25% of the purchase price in insurance.

At 25 with little driving history, that seems right for NYC. I was quoted 9k/yr for a new boxster when I was 25 with about 6 years driving experience. Hell, i'm 34 now and i'm paying 4k/yr for the M. :banghead:

It is crazy to compare insurance due to multiple factors...but there is no way that is right. Liability is probably not that much, if any, less than $218/6 months.

Thats exactly what I pay. My statement says $218 for the M3. This includes multiple discounts also, I can give you my insurance agents # if you live in California, and just ask her why my insurance is low, I've been paying this rate for 2 years now.

do this, have a family member/relative purchase a car, the older the better. However you decide to purchase/finance it.. you're basically just paying for it. Then have them fully insure it.. the you just simply drive it.. just make sure if anything happens.. you dont live in that household.. its basically as if your friend had let you borrow his M3 for a day as you were in town.. really makes no difference. According to the insurance companies they allow 12 such occurances a year.. pls do you really think they keep track of this.. hahahaha.. now how much you will save? you'll probably be looking to purchase an E46 M3 at this point :-)

OK, break down your statement...liability (and limits), comp and collision deductibles, etc.
