Euro Glass Headlight Upgrade 1997 M3

I have a 1997 M3 and I am thinking of purchasing the Euro headlights from Bavarian Autosport. I want to change to glass, I am having a lot of problems with the plastic fading. I also want to improve my visibility at night. Are the elipsoid projector lowbeams bright enough? Or should I look at hid conversion? Any ideas or input?

The best upgrade is the euro lamps (either ZKW or Bosch) along with HIDs. Excellent lighting.

Thanks for the info! One question though. Where can I look to purchase these lamps? And what price range are they?

When I upgraded, I got DDEs, the euro lamps and HIDs. The total for all three was around $900ish.

Crazy thing is, you spend close to a grand and still don't have as good of a setup as newer cars with stock HIDs. I'm been researching retrofiting HID projectors.

Here's where you can find some info:

i have ZKWs with the 6000k Xtec kit.. works like a dream..

porschetech.. u may wanna double check ur headlight alignment.. i never get anything... not even a flash.. i would worry more about the side to side than the up and down.. seems it would be the easiest spot to mess up..

You're right. This is because all the newer projectors are designed for HID bulbs, and they have much better optics.

You have to remember, the euro headlamps are still a 10 yearold peice of technology. Just look how much lighting on newer cars has advanced in the last three to four years.

I am STILL in the process of tweaking my beam pattern. I asked the guys at my old place of work (BMW body shop) to keep an eye out for new cars with damaged headlamps. Going to get my hands on some of thoes newer projectors.

Maybe I can get some of the bi-xenon projectors. Oh the ideas..
