um.. well.. with the B&M shifter, what all has to be replaced.. does the carrier need removed? as for the install.. u may find it easier to drop the tranny a bit to get ur hands into the small areas.. i have big hands so it was a bit difficult to reach in there..

do you guys all have access to a lift? can u do it without one...? i've always heard lowering the tranny is a good idea...

not necessary. I didn't even find it necessary to remove the front bitch clip, and that's the hard one.

        piece of cake install.

        understeer has some great instructions.

I drove my car up on ramps and then jacked up one side to go under it. Maybe not the safest way to go about it, but it worked.

I wouldn't ever trust a jack, but I do use the ramps, then jack the back up with a floor jack and block each side at the jack points with jackstands.

cars are heavy, I don't want to be taken out by a faulty jack :rofl2:

I repaired mine on a lift.

I don't know how you will install a SSK without undoing the bitch clip (worst design ever may I add). That thing was a pain in the ass to undo.. took me 20 minutes to figure it out, and I think I got lucky that time. :chair:

I just didn't take off the front bc. No need to imop since I wasn't doing anything to the selector rod.

though, I might to try a weighted one. You'd think these aftermarket companies that design these improvements could build something better than that stupid clip...

i would agree that the clip is the biggest pain in the ass.. but its doing the job it was designed to.. so its working in A+ fashion

DO send it back and get the UUC, you're only shorting yourself.

For the bitch clip, make sure you have a extra one on hand, just in case you lose your sh1t and just tear that ****ing thing off. UUC sent me a bunch of extra clips and yellow washers. I also found that long-handled needle nose pliars work REALLY well on getting the b1tch clip off. Sirus recommened axle grease for the pivot ball cup. Works great.

I gotta be honest with you, I'm not thrilled about my SSK from UUC with DSSR etc. Like, it's good and all...but not 400 bucks good.

I sort of wish I spent my money on other stuff. I have the height on it still set at the highest, so I'll lower that to the lowest and see if I like the notchier, but shorter feel.
