    Which gauges to buy?

Im not going for a **** look with a massive A pillar stack but I was really wondering what specific parameters I should be monitoring my car on. I have a JC intake, HFM, Software, and AA exhaust. I will be getting an AA track pipe in a few weeks. The car only has 52K miles but Im starting to worry about possibly running to lean or rich after reading about other people going to the dyno and being on one extreme or the other. Would a A/F guage be necessary. Does an EGT guage do any good? Just wanting to monitor the health of my baby.

you can use an A/F gauge if you want... but an EGT gauge is overkill unless you have turbo

If your on stock softwear don't worrie about it, unless your tuned hardcore or by a retard or hardcore track racer (which you arn't) you will not need gauges in your car. You shouldn't worrie.

And your softwear if done by a company that sells them world wide don't worrie about it.

What will the track pipe do to my mixture? will the fact that the JC chip is tuned for the stock exhaust make a difference?

          no. no.

changing any part of the exhaust will not affect your mixture. mixture is affected by air & fuel and deals primarily with what goes into the combustion chambers.

if you add a trackpipe, your exhaust will be more free flowing & you will have gains, even if the JC chip is tuned however.

i for one do worry about my AF mix.. the only reason is when i put the M50 manifold on though.. with the shark software it may be a bit too much..

If you are going to get gauges look to www.edgemotorworks.com They have a nice kit all pre-wired for you and they have plenty of gauge stlyes to choose from. (this is a gauge panel that goin in the sunglases pocket)...I would get Oil Temp (its good to know when the car is actually warm), Oil Pressure (probably wouldnt notice it dropping until its too late..but you never know), and the last one is kinda a tossup...AFR isnt a bad choice but there will be alot more labor having a bung welded into your exhaust track...I think their kit comes with a voltage gauge which is a waste...but atleast you will have the two really important oil parameters monitored.

Is there any other place to put gauges besides the a pillar and the sunglases holder. Has anyone ever integrated them into the stock gauge pod?
