    New Pics

    Hey Guys,

I recently bought a Porter Cable 7336 Random Orbital for my future detailing days and over the past few weeks have ordered different pads, polishes and waxes to detail my car for its first time in this spring weather.

I decided today would be a good day to do an all out detailing...all day and really take my time.

I started with a really good quality washing with my Mothers Shampoo and then cleaned the wheels and calipers as well as shining the tires with Meguiars "Hot and Shine"...I just like how it has an adjustable spray so it doesnt soak your wheels.

I then dried the car with my towels from www.pakshak.com ..who I recommend. Following this I used my ClayMagic Clay Bar and Clay Lube from www.autopia.org (their store)

Then I broke out the Polisher and applied 3M Fi2 (quality swirl remover), buffed that and followed it with Klasse AIO, buffed that and finished the day with P21S Carnuaba Wax.

I also made sure to tape my moulding and most black parts of the car so as to avoid getting wax all over them.

That would take me at least a couple days to do and you did it in 1 day? Good job! Looks sweet...not as sweet as mine but close.

Nice. I need to get me either a buffer, screw the random orbatal ones; them are for weaklings , or I need to get some clay. Probably clay.

Clay is awesome.. It makes your paint feel so soft. Orbitals are nice.. and require zero skill which is cool. I real variable speed buffer polisher requires skill not to leave zebra marks, but with practice its like nothing else in terms of results.

I wetsanded my mustang the other summer... that made a difference!

wow - looks sweet. did u have to switch polishing pads between the polish, cleaner, and wax?

I only use wetsanding as a last resort. Too easy to mess up the paint if you're inexperienced or not paying enough attention heh.

Thanks Sean. That means alot coming from someone like yourself with a car as clean as yours.

Thankyou so much. I have the first one hanging on the wall and I love it. As soon as I get a better camera or someone to take some really high res shots for me I will definitely send them your way (with some paypal to cover the shipping this time. )

Yes, I used two different white polishing pads: 1 to apply the Polish and then 1 to apply the AIO (cleaner). Something about waxing by hand seems natural to me..especially with the P21s....I just use their applicator and then a MF towel to buff the wax. At the end I went over the whole car with an MF bonnet on the Orbital to give it a little extra shine. :agree:

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. It was a long day, but well worth it to me afterwards.
