I think most of us here use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic. I personally use Mobil 1 with the red cap on top. 7 quarts to fill.

When i had my car (cough cough..in running condition)...lol I always used Redline 5w-30 or Castrol Syntec Full Synth out here in mild California. Other climates you might need different grade viscosity. I changed it every 5k miles with filter (might be overkill but better safe than sorry a filter only costs $8). I noticed the engine seemed to rev a bit lighter...but thats just my impression prolly didnt do jack squat difference.

              Redline

              Mobile 1

              Castrol

              All good oils.

Castrol 15w-40 mineral oil here. Year around, no issues. Even when the temp droped 15 below 0.

Our engines were initally designed for mineral oil, so that's what I will always use. I really see no need for syn oil. I don't leave my oil in for 15,000 miles, hell very rarely do I leave it in over 5-6k miles.

                  Hey

If you change the oil on GT4 you get 35hp...I use Mobil 1 15-50 but I am changing to syntec to support our F1 effort.

maybe i am aold fashioned, but i change it every 3-4k with sythentic. I use mineral oil in my other cars, every 2500-3k with filter. doing a change without the filter is like peeing in clean underwear.

Whats funny is that in some older american cars that i've had, the owners manual tells you to change the filter every 2 changes.. so every 6k. MADNESS!!!!

when it comes down to it, you can;t do it too frequently.. its all cheap insurance, even with 7 qts of synthetc and a MANN filter, i spend like 45. thats still cheap when compared to any interally oiled component.

Thats what my tech says... I use Castrol Syten BLEND. 10w-40

when I bought the car, I asked and he said, the motor was designed for mineral oil.. he said the BLEND is perfect.

Yeah. I asked a few of the techs while I worked at BMW and they said they had seen issues before with the gaskets breaking down on 'some' of the cars when people put syn in. I don't want to chance that, so I'll stick to the age old, proven mineral oil.
