    dragin it on wednesday

well guys me and some buddys are heading up north to the drag strip on wednesday...i know there are posts on hints to drag but i just wanted some small hinters for a totally stock m3 coupe as well as alittle good luck love from my E36 guys...

...i think all but 1 of my buddies are bringing up small 4 bangers that shouldnt be a problem and 1 is bringing a 300ZX non turbo that i have raped before...so basically im just racing the clock...and a lot of 5.0's that will rape me all day...

Cool, If you want good RT's, leave on the last yellow light. Don't wait for green.

i ususally position the clutch at the line right before it engages and have the revs at around 4k...gives me a good jump and very little lag between 1st and 2nd.... good luck

Your best reaction time was a .2? I thought a perfect reaction time was .500 (exactly one half second after the last yellow lights up)?

It seems some tracks are changing from printing the .500 on the timeslip to just assuming a .000 = .500 and anything negative is a redlight. I guess it .500 was too hard for people.

ahh yess.. the drag.. i do 3500 rpm... slip the clutch off the line.. have part throttle between shifts.. don't dump second because i have found that u will spin the tires (well i did anyways).. when u hit 4th.. just slam on it and pray.. and remember.. lower those tire pressures.. 25 lbs or so..

I'm also going to the track this weekend. I've never done it before, but thought I've do a couple of runs. I don't want to harm the tranny, so I'm probably going to drop it at about 2500 rps at the most.

turn the ASC off.. u do'nt want the asc catching ur mistakes.. if it does u have a bogged run that will blow..

It's the clutch that gets hurt the most. Don't drop the clutch, slip it. When you are slipping the clutch, most people forget that there is some area between full and off throttle...
