    1995 M3 Engine mount suggestions????

I drove my 1995 Black on black M3 aptly named "Darkness" back home to N.Y.C. this past weekend. On the way a rock hit the windshield, a pothole (one of many) bent my Migla rim and worst of all, I seem to have snapped a motor mount. The car now vibrates heavily at stop lights whether my foot is on the brake or not. On Friday this was still the tightest and sturdiest car in the world, by saturday night my beast was broken. There is a rattling that sounds like something loose is the back now too... What kind of motormount should I get?

    Check these links:

    Stock Mounts: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=11812224413

    Group N Mounts: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=11812224413N

...I would advocate just replacing it with another stock motor mount. If money is no issue you could go with the second link to the Group N mounts but a 25% increase in stiffness for another $600 hardly seems worth it to me.

The other mounts that Turner sells are solid metal mounts....something that shouldnt be run on a street car...so dont even look at those.

You've got one of the best handling road-going cars ever made, and you can't avoid a couple of potholes?

Where did you learn to drive anyway? oh wait, let me guess...the Marine Corps?? :rulaiz:

Brooklyn! wtf is going on?

        VQMAN,

We were in the Corps TOGETHER. Do you believe that I have forgotten how YOU drive? The fact that you still have a license is a miracle. I'll let you live because you are a fellow Nissan/Bimmer guy. I assure you, you wouldn't last a day in N.Y.C. ...On another note. My motor mounts are fine. The problem actually ended up being my water pump and cooling fan. The bearings went in the water pump; which caused the fan to wobble, which sheared 3 blades off of the fan; which caused the engine to be unbalanced at idle. Strange but true. "Darkness" is running better than ever, I went ahead and replaced the radiator while I was at it. keep an eye on yours. Let's try to get together at one of the Bimmer meets this year.

Do you believe that I have forgotten how YOU drive?I'm an excellent driver

The fact that you still have a license is a miracle. My lawyer, John Ivan..he works miracles, I think he is God.

I'll let you live because you are a fellow Nissan/Bimmer guy. I assure you, you wouldn't last a day in N.Y.C. ...I've already been to New York City 3 times. my favorite trip was New Years Eve back in '94. but unfortunately for the innocent motorists of Kansas City, I'm still alive. :agree:

I don't know what would have been more expensive to fix, just the motor mounts or the water pump and your fan. But at least she's running good again.

keep an eye on yours.my radiator? what warning signs should I look for?

Let's try to get together at one of the Bimmer meets this year. When are there going to be any? I've already gone to the 2005 SE-R National Convention in Austin, I might be going to the Indy 500, and I'm flying to New York for a wedding in August, I'm really running out of vacation. My trip to NY starts Wednesday, August 3rd for a friends wedding on Friday, August 5th. I'm not going home until Sunday. A friend from SERCA (SE-R Club of America) is hooking me up with Mets Tickets on Saturday. If we don't meet up at a Bimmer Meet or something, maybe you'll be making a trip home in August? How far is the drive from VA to NYC anyway?

We will make something happen. I may be away on vacation the weekend of August 5th. It takes less than 5 hours from my house in Maryland to my Mom's in Brooklyn. I spend most weekendsin Fairfax, Virginia its about 4 hours from New Yrk if I leave from there. When are you posting pix of your M3? have you named it yet?

///M3 I get it. That's pretty slick. Hit me on yahoo with your contact info so we can talk shop later this week. What's the chances we would get the same car wirth the same options in the same color? That's crazy! I'm thinking of taking off the Migla's and putting the Contours back on.

You still never told me exactly when you bought it, I had mine home from the dealer on May 4th...
