How many of you guys have gone in and secured down your oil-pump nut? I'm kinda nervous about this...

        They DO come off!

Most reliable and yet good for maintenance is to safety wire it.

I heard they usually come off under constant hard driving, e.g, tracking.

I havent' taken mine apart because I don't want to mess with the oil pan heh.

I had mine safety-wired just for peace of mind.

Someday, when I have my pump nut welded, I am thinking about having an oil baffle welded in. I think it would be the perfect opportunity.

I should start a new thread for this, but anybody have good experiences with oil pan baffles for the S52?

I have not done this. My car is still under extended warranty so I hope if falls off and kills my engine in the next 12K miles. If not I will probably pull it off and secure it properly.

I've seen people say that it set them back anywhere from 300 to 600 to have the shop do it and the DIY looks pretty intense...I've got 100K on my motor and it hasn't fallen off yet (knock on wood), so for what it's worth, I'm not sure I want to drop 600 on something like this. I guess it'd give me a good excuse to jump for that euro-swap if it happened, right?
