M3 Valentine 1 pics of Stealth Display - Post em if ya got em

    All,

My V1 (1.8) arrived today and I'll be doing the hardwire tonight. I'm not going to integrate the stealth it into the mirror so I'm wondering if anyone has another place that looks good. I've heard of some putting it in the cluster, and others integrating it into the console...

If possible, post some pics! I'm new to the Valentine world..I hope I'm not dissapointed. Thanks guys,

    BEB

NYM3Jack, the forum doesn't have a specific thread about this, I searched before posting. I'm looking for pics specifically for the stealth box...not a DIY on mirror installs or headlight/grill installs.

I cant wait to get mine! I plan on doing the stealh rear brake light job and mounting the stealth display behind the AC vent above the HU. Let us know how it goes.

Another great forum with loads of info->link (http://www.radardetector.net/)

Agree. Who ever came up with that idea is a genius. Since radars are illegal in my state, thats my only safe option.

it only cost me the price of the concealed display unit. i think that was @ $40. i opened it up and puts the guts of it inside the mirror. so basically it only cost me a couple of hours of my time.

If you are gonna go behind the vent you should consider having this done first

Thanx mfree. I think I am going to get one of those units from lightspeed. :agree:

Did you try and mount the remote display behind the AC vent? That seems to be my only option cause if i get pulled, they would definitly notice it where you mounted it. Still, thats badass.

i had the V1 up on the right of the rearview mirror. the display wires ran down the a pillar, under my dash and i had it mounted right infront of my speedo to the left of the odometer.

                          loved it there.

That was the original plan but I did not have the patience to figure out how to get it in there.( in that process is when I accidentaly popped the louver out of the vent, and a light went on in my head that said "that will work just as well") Also I did not figure I would be able to see it very clearly. The different color lights would help but I still do not think it is practical, behind the louvers.

I can remove the display in about 3 seconds, so you could unplug it well b4 the cop is even close enough to read you liscence plate.

Good point. Back to the drawing board. Maybe my best option would be the invisimirror.. **** I lost a bid on ebay in the last 2 seconds for one. I was even sniping. :banghead:
