about my trunk (which is what I'm working on now) the right side needs to be adjusted down, the left is fine. I tried loosening the hinge a bit and hammering (soft head) the hinge down in the rearmost portion, but it doesn't want to go down. any other ideas?

The hinges adjust the front and back position

The pegs on the backside of the trunk are what adjust the up and down rear position.

if the front side is too high up, there are spacers on the hinges (should be at least)... you have to remove them to get it lower, and add to get it higher.

yeah i have the rubber peg on the right side screwed all the way in, its closing a tad bit tighter now but still not like the left. i can't seem to find spacers on the hinges but i'll keep looking

fftopic: yes, i know this is off topic, but reading brought up two questions for me- one, what is the long tool at the top of the tool kit, cuz i'm missin it, and it looks like there was something there. two- did a rubber mallet like the old 'thor hammer' that came in jags w/ center locks come in the tool kit, because i found a sweet hammer in my trunk when i bought it.

thanks for that diagram, you really go all out helping 'noobs' like me

i removed the right-side rear height adj peg entirely and it still closed the same way. there must be something with the hinge that i need to adjust to get it to close tighter

As long as the top of the trunk is flush with the unibody, you're fine. I actually have a ~8mm gap at the bottom of mine that others dont, but my trunk is still flush.

yeah but the right edge of the trunk and the body don't line up. I actually removed the rear bolt, pushed it almost all the way down, tightened the rear 2, and it STILL was off. i'll try raising the front (toward the front of car) a little, it's a little too low...

well i succeeded in raising the front of the trunk... and the rear still doesn't close flush. now i'm stumped. must be a warped trunklid?

here's where I am now - the rear isn't even bolted in, as you can see it's below where it's supposed to be, yet the trunklid still closes about 2mm above the rear fender. ???

fake dinan? please. the body on this car may not be perfect but the dealer showed me exactly what was installed on it. my camera/photoshop was playing tricks with the orange peel. i can take more pics but it isn't worth my time.
