I've got the racing dynamics strut bars in the front and rear and they're a nice, solid piece. You're not going to see any difference between one or the other if you're driving your car on the street, so just go for whatever suits your fancy aesthetically.

Personally, I noticed a big difference from Xbrace and Bar to my car without either and I did them in stages so I felt the difference.

The steering input is more precise with the bar.

[QUOTE=KMT15;2456916]this any good? i like the price and the look. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/STRUT-BRACE-BAR-E36-BMW-92-95-96-97-98-318-325-328-M3_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33591QQihZ014QQitemZ 330164516699QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

This is a very good bar. The same factory that makes our CrossWeave makes this bar. Although the ACS label is questionable, and vendors in the US would be sued seconds after offering it for sale as an ACS bar, the bar itself is great.

I do know there is a difference between some which are solid versus those that have hinges but I am not really qualified to tell you the specifics on which ones have hinges.

There is no difference functionally between the two types & no one would be able to sense a difference between any 2 decent strut bars by driving the car.

There's a lot of BS about this floating around in these forums if you really want to go find it all.

OP: Just pick one with good solid mounts & that you like the look of.

I like Sparco's steel strut bar bimmerworld sells. Of course the picture is of an E30 M3 engine bay, but if the E36's is as large diameter of that one for the E30 in the picture, the steel would be just as stiff if not more stiff than an aluminum unit.

(Note: about his bar not fitting properly, the writer was pointing out his chassis probably was not square)

          And the price is great!

I would be worried about fitment issues. I think I remember reading a rant about someones hood not closing properly with one of these.

            Why buy fake ACS?

Did you read the return policy from the company?
