Are you talking about removing the entire airbox and replacing it with nothing, just leaving the open HFM?
No offense, but you do realize that the airbox has a purpose there, and that the filter inside the airbox is designed to keep dirty and debris out of the intake and out of the HFM, right?
If you mean pulling the airbox for a cone filter setup, that's one thing, but open HFM is just asking for trouble. For the sake of your car, please put it back and just debaffle the airbox if you are looking for better sound. There are no gains to removing the airbox, in fact you probably lost power.. Good luck

ya basically the car is only used for 1/4 mile drags. I'm sitting on 13.1 sec on the drag strip.
we experimenting with this and already gained 18kw and 33nm by doing this. But the car seemed to lean out on top. @ about 6500 all the way to 8000rpm. My car's rev limiter has been removed to 8300rpm.
Once she is fully completed i will post a few pics and vids of how and wat she does on the dyno.
I was just asking and i know of the implications should something go into the tubes and thus travelling into the head and motor. but we are fitting air filters to avert that problem.
Like i said she has picked up a considerable amount of power by doing this. Oh yes i am running cams as well. So u guys dont advise this route.
Wat else can be done to increase the power n/a
Oh yes she was pushing out 220kw and 360nm
Now she has 238kw and 393nm.
I'm new to yr forum and i'm from cape town South africa btw.
