Wow guys didn't mean to get an argument going but here we go on all the questions.

    1. Yes I have the funds to fix up this car in every aspect.

    2. I have enough mechanical knowledge and know that this car Engine/Drivetrain wise is in good order. The cooling system has been recently replaced, as well as the clutch and has ruitine engine matenance done all the time.

    3. I have looked at the prices of approx 110,000 mile M3 verts and the amount the car is worth compared to the $10 to buy it and the $3,000-$4,000 I already have seems like a good investment to me.

    4. I will have pictures of the car soon. The body is in great shape and the shocks and struts were just replaced. I will need a new windsheild and top along with a new interior.

    5. I love the looks of the E36 vert alot and I may just keep this car once I drive it because I will most likely fall in love.

Thank you to everyone that commented, I really do appreciate the help.

Imho, the verts look soooo good with the top down. They are heavier, but who cares, because the bottom line is its a beautiful thing to be able to drive without the roof. The coupe people on here just got some jealousy thing going on, so dont listen to the haters. :goodluck:

Jealousy? :rofl2: I will admit a clean 'vert looks great, and I would absolutely rock one as a third or fourth car, but it is not jealousy that makes me prefer a coupe or sedan.

Geez Roland!!! What's up with trashing the verts? I love my car! Luckily for me, the M3 is one of three cars, and I don't have to drive it in rain or snow. Damn it's a fun machine in comparison to a lot of newer convertibles. The bottom line is that any E36 M3 in good shape is a lot of fun for the money. If you are limited to one car and you must have a sports car, then a coupe is a better choice if you plan to track it or mod it heavily. You can't erase the smiles I have when I am cruising around on warm nights with the top down and the tunes on.... the ultimate German cruiser...

furthermore, people who hate on the verts for their lack of torsional rigidity just make it clear that they are just a bunch of complainers. I think the verts are very solid regardless of their lack of a roof.

If you ever drive a miata, you will understand what real lack of rigidity means.

Nothing wrong with convertibles but it is simple, a car that was made with a roof and then had the roof removed will have less structural rigidity. Then there can be added weight, but a convertible that was designed around it doesn't really have those sacrifices. Now, I don't think they well fall apart, I think they will be slower in a straight line and around a track. But if you enjoy your car, thats all that matters.

Seats from a coupe fit perfectly and the door panels in the front too.

Just curious, the coupe seats will fit into the vert, but how do you accomdiate for the missing seat belt component on the coupe seats?

Heck, I'd love to have a vert to tool around in... I wouldn't replace my coupe, but it would be fun...
