    E36 Refresh Journal

I think that most of the posts in the member journals part of the forum are people with E46s and modding them, but, if you're interested, I've been posting about my E36 refresh over there too. Restoring the interior, detailing the exterior, doing the maintenance routine.

    Here it is.

Hey, how hard was it to take the key apart and what did you use to do it? My key light works poorly when it works at all... I tried replacing the battery and it didn't make a difference... Looks like that LED trick could work great!!

I posted more details in the journal, it's not hard. Took me about 10 minutes. You just need a soldering setup. The soldering tools shouldn't be more than $30-$40 and would probably be good to have around for other electrical repair.

Some more entries ... Bissell little green of the carpets, hobby paint center vent, remove, clean, shoe polish, and 303 black trim.

Does anyone know how to remove the lower black trim from the front/rear bumper? Or should I just tape off and do it that way? cheers

The front is just screws, but I taped and masked mine cause I was to lazy to remove it. You'll be refreshing the front lip quite often.

I did this a long time ago, with a bad camera. But it might help...
