    Vader Seat rail replacement

    How's it going?

Does anyone know how to replace the seat rails (sliders) on a manual vader?

I did a forum as well as google search, but could not come up with what I'm looking for.

    Thanks.

Interesting. I've removed the seat cushions before. It's surprisingly easy.

Remove the 4 little torx screws. Pop the side lever(s) off. Pull the back cover off.

Unhook the leather/cushion. Pull the bottom off too (takes a little working).

You may want to remove the leather just so you don't damage it.

Then, see this link. I'll bet some springs are under tension, so watch-out!

    Oh. Why remove the rails?

It might be easier to buy a trashed seat and replace the metal/mechanical part of it.

I did find the DIY for the vader seat swap over at bf.c. But I only really would like to replace my slider because it's what's defective. My seat rocks back and forth and I found that the rail towards the center of the car is a little bent and is missing the front wheel piece.

My friend gave me a trashed seat (non-vader) and I will try to see if I can figure out how to remove the slider. If it fails, I will try to pry out the wheel piece and see if I can install it in my slider.

For now, I wedged an allen wrench in the gap to prevent my seat from rocking.

I see. If the trashed seat has the same color base and is mechanical, it's an easy swap.

You can also swap the colored base. ^
