Mann Oil filter quick question

Is this the right part number for Mann oil filter?

It's just I ordered one and I received Mann HU 926/3X filter that's made in Mexico? When I googled the number that was on the box, it showed it's for regular E36 3-Series and for M3 its HU 926/4X?? Can someone clarify this?



Also where are they supposed to be made?

Acording to RealOEM that is a non-M filter part number. It would seem you ordered the wrong one. The correct part number is 11-42-7-833-769.



Mann is a decent filter, but I always get OEM and usually from the dealer (about $10 with my CCA discount). I really don't like to take chances with something so vital.

Well the thing is I entered my vehicle information and it gave me two filter, one OEM and one Mann. Seems like they shipped me wrong part, and I did called them and they told me it's the right one. I was like huh?


Should I just return it and go to dealer? It's like $15 at the dealer.

Well, the one you have will not work (too tall IIRC) so you will have to return it anyway, (but if they screwed up the first one...). $15 is a bit high but then again if you are needing it right away that is about the only place that stocks them.

Thing is I ordered with some other parts and got free shipping for it, I bet they will tell me to pay for return shipping or if I buy it on another website, total comes out $16-$19 depending on the site (that's with shipping) which is kind of expensive.


But yes, I am returning the one that I have right now, thank you for clarification.
