    Misfire Issue

I have been driving around in my E36 lately and have been having an on and off misfire issue. The car only has had the issue when I start it in the mornings, but not in the afternoons. I swapped plugs and it was good for a while, but then it came back. Though it only came back for five or so minutes then it was back to running like a champ. Any ideas what the issue could be? It's not a constant thing it just comes and goes. Any ideas on what it is would be awesome. Thanks!

Try searching for vacuum leaks - 'tis the season.

      Good luck.

Yeah I had someone get a read of the codes and it's saying it's a resistor issue. So let's hope replacing that fixes it.

Plug boots? Could be an intermittent short.

Maybe. The shop I took it too said the code reader specifically stated the resistor being bad. If that's not it I'll try the boot plugs next. :/

What resistor? Are they using a BMW code reader? Generic ones will not read BMW codes correctly or at all.

The shunt resistor that goes to the coil packs. Also it is a BMW code reader, all this place does is bimmers and they've been rated very highly. So I am fairly certain they know what they're doing, but I could always be wrong.
