    Question on BBS CH

My friend is going to college next year and is willing to get rid of his set of BBS CH. They are 17s.

Would it be a fair deal if I were to trade him my DSII's for his rims? Both of our rims are in really good shape, and he doesn't mind if he has m3 rims on his 328.

I also have brand new set of Pilot Super Sports and he has pretty worn out Pirelli's, so we would just keep our respective tires.

Is this a fair deal for everyone or should I be paying anything for them in addition to the trade??

I think so. He's saving money for college by not having to buy brand new set of tires. You're getting a different set of wheels.

I think I read it differently. If you are keeping your Pilot's and he is keeping the Pirelli's then you are getting quite the deal...The DS-2s aren't worth a bucket of spit.

He is actually going to the Naval Academy so he doesn't actually need to save any money.

Since the DSIIs aren't worth anything, how much should I offer along with the switch?

Given that he won't need money during his plebe year (I am a retired Naval Officer) just come to an amicable agreement. You just want to make sure both of you feel OK, and that he doesn't wake up and realize he got trounced. That is what upperclassmen are for...:-)

Truth. My best friend played football there and it fun to hear stories sometimes of the plebe summer/year.

BBS CH's are great wheels. I personally think they look better on more "updated" (if that makes sense) cars like e46 m3's or even e90 series. They are expensive and I think a straight up trade would be a little bad on his part. I say you work out a deal that involves cash or parts in some sort of way.

And to be honest here, I had no idea BBS CH's came in 17's....I will have to keep an eye out. Oh, one more thing, Pirelli tires do not last long with street driving with more than -1.5 camber in the front...Trust me :-)

            :-)

A 17" BBS CH will not look that great on the E36.

Boo! The wheels look kinda scrunched in there. :-)

Those do look tiny... maybe a slight more drop would help? I would swap in a heart beat though you can always pick up a set od dsIIs down the road if you want them back.

Didn't know they called freshman at the Naval Academy plebes.....thought it was just us West Pointers....

I love the BBS CH wheels, but I also think 17" are kind of small on the E36. Maybe for the track?
