    Decipher this Individual interior option

My German is poor and Google is confusing me with "1/4 head columns". Check Individual details at bottom of the car build for info. Nappa schwarz was a standard color, something else must set this interior as a ZX11 code.

KOPFSTüTZEN IM FOND ANALOG SA 498 VERBAUEN.

Restliche Innenausstattung wie bei Leder Nappa schwarz,

Hmmm, are the rear headrests not normally wrapped in black nappa? I thought black nappa was a standard leather color/type for all M3s.

Here is what I get when I enter the details into translate.google.com. The translation in bold is what's confusing me.

Rest of the interior as with black nappa leather,

I was thinking... maybe the A/B/C pillars are wrapped in black nappa?

I would think it would mention extended leather if that were the case, but JimE would know best on that one. Extended leather

Just figured out that the ü is really supposed to be "UE". So KOPFSTüTZEN is really KOPFSTUETZEN which means headrest. Still, the rest of the line does not make sense.

KOPFSTUETZEN IM FOND ANALOG SA 498 VERBAUEN.

TRANSLATED: ANALOG IN FUND SA headrests block 498.

No, extended leather (code L7SW for black) covered the b pillar in the sedan but not A and C.

That production vin did not come with rear headrests but it appears someone really wanted them. This meant that BMW had to take the rear headrest and have it specially wrapped in black leather.

If you look at this vin you'll see option 498 http://www.bmwvin.com/?vin=EE07555

S498A KOPFSTUETZEN IM FOND Headrests, rear, mechanically adjustable

Not sure what that "1/4" means.

Ahhhhh, thanks Jim. Just looked it up at M registry, the rear headrests were added (I'm guessing as a standard option) after 9/97. So then, does this car get the BMW Indivdual label on the shock tower for having had rear headrests added?
