Sliding Floor Mat Issue: Different Velcro Discs are Available

Last April I picked a new set of factory floor mats and for the first time found that the one under my feet kept sliding on me. It was driving me crazy and I had to adjust it every time. It's also a safety issue as it interferes with the pedals. The velcro disc that came with the mat (that screws in to the rug) literally would not hold. The old ones used to have holes and a metal piece that anchored them but those are discontinued.

Just on a hunch I asked the dealership if they sold the screw-in velcro disc part and they do. When I got one I noticed it was not only larger but had a different surface that attached to the velcro on the mat much more securely - enough to make a loud rip sound when you remove it. These ones actually work.

If yours are sliding, test to see if the velcro pieces even mate. If they don't, try picking up a new pair at the dealership.

my car had new mats when I bought it. PO didn't use the velcro screw in things (found them in glove box). I installed them and haven't had to look back since.

Mats are one thing I've been meaning to buy, but kept postponing. Just out of curiosity, where did you buy those mats? I wanna make sure I get the proper discs whichever place I may end up buying from.

What kind of velcro disks you are talking about? I've been looking for some. PO of my car, bought new floor mats with velcro disks on them but the car has this locking screw in carpet and now sure what buy to make it work. I've looked at some stores and didn't find anything. Any links to what you are talking about?

The big disks come with new mats. (at least from the dealer), You remove the original tiedown and screw in the new disk.

When I bought the car, the owner didn't give me any disks so that's why I'm looking for some that I can buy separately.

Hmmm. I might have an extra set. Does your car have the terminals (for lack of a better word) in the floor to screw into?

That's what I have. They won't stay in at all. Are you guys saying you've found a fix?

I had "those" too. When I ordered new mats, the mats came with these screw in disks.

Well, I guess the PO didn't install those ^^^^

Any idea where I can buy them? Because every time I get in the car, I have to straighten my floor mat.
