    New M3 owner checking in

Hello all. I've been lurking and posting infrequently for the past few weeks on here. I recently acquired a single owner 1997 M3 coupe from an elderly lady about a month back. All service records and decent upkeep along with Dinan software and Remus catback exhaust.

The car is in overall great shape and I'm enjoying my new daily driver. Although it has 130k on the clock I feel like I got an incredible deal on this car. Other important things to note are I just performed a new water pump, tstat, tstat housing, oil change and diff fluid along with about 30 hours of detailing.

Anyways here's what I have. Much more work to come.

And I'll throw in my track car. A 1993 Mazda Miata. I currently instruct and run with Oregon Region Porsche Club, Portland BMW Club and Hooked On Driving. Enjoy and any critiques, suggestions or questions for the //M are much appreciated.

Also if anyone has tips on how to properly host photos from flickr on here that would be much appreciated.

sweeet!! ive always wanted to know how a Miata compares to the e36 m3 since miatas and their drivers are pretty much the gurus of handling

Welcome, looks like a nice pickup. An elderly lady was the PO of a manual M3? That can't be common.

Sounds like you know the weak points. Enjoy bringing her up to code.

Looks super clean! Congrats. It is a luxury package car but has the front lip from a non-lux car. If you change the grille to the mesh one, the exterior (besides the skirts) will be converted to a non-lux. I did the same thing with mine, and was well worth it. I picked up the mesh grill from ECS.

Yes and she had the Dinan software and exhaust put on as well. :-)

Just took care of the VC gasket and crankcase vent valve/associated hosing. On to bushings, arms, tie rods and other related suspension soon! I'm itching to track this car but need to hold out just a bit longer while I finish school.

Thanks! I've definitely been eyeing some exterior pieces. The grill doesn't bother me so much but I'd love to get my hands on some "twisty" skirts. Is that even what they're called?
