Name this broken part, clutch pedal

Was driving today, shifted to 1rst as i was pulling into a parking spot. Felt a crunch, couldn't engage clutch. Car stalled. Fiddled around with the clutch pedal and it popped back way past the point it normally sits.

The car drives the same, the clutch point is still the same. Instead of returning to a neutral position when I let the clutch go, it either stays right above the clutch point or does a "pop" and goes all the way up as far as it can go. So then I have to lift my entire leg in order to get my foot over the pedal. The piece in red box is what i found after the initial stall/pop. http://imageshack.us/a/img526/3810/6...f94f88a78f.jpg. There were no other pieces.

That looks like the piece that attaches the clutch master cylinder to the pedal itself.

That piece serves to locate the pedal in relation to the master cylinder piston and also limits the outwards (towards the driver) movement of the pedal. I can see it causing the problems you're describing.

How to replace it is a good question. When I replaced my clutch pedal it sure looked bonded to the master cylinder piston. I couldn't see a way to remove it. Others may know more but hopefully it doesn't require replacing the whole master cylinder.

+1 that's the eyelet on the end of the master cylinder plunger, and to the best of my knowledge, you can not replace it separately. I believe it's time for a new master cylinder bub.

Might as well do the slave, pedal, delrin bushings and a stainless clutch line while you're at it. :-)

I agree. Do the master, clutch pedal, delrin bushings, and all associated parts. They're cheap, and the clutch pedal setup is kinda cheezy and prone to wear. Do it all at once and enjoy perfect pedal feel that you never knew existed.
