    Seat cover swap

Has anyone ever removed the cover (upholstery) from a good passenger seat and put it on the driver's seat to replace worn leather? It looks like the covers are virtually identical, but looks can be deceiving.

    Anyone done this?

I haven't, but have seen others do it. They are identical.

Yes. I've done it a dozen times. They are the same.

I talk about it all the time and how easy it is but no one has ever said they tried it.

If they look different, the person stretching the leather at the factory that day did it a bit different on one seat vs. another.

In case you don't believe everyone else, I'll also say that lower and upper upholstery sections are interchangeable.

You will want to stretch out the indentation left by the seatbelt buckle guide trim on the lower section. When you swap sides, you'll have the big ugly, comma-shaped indentation on the outside where it is now obvious.

Yeah. Here's one where I swapped cushions. Look close and you can see the "comma" in my other posting, on both seats. M3F won't let me post those pics again. That car sold for $6,000.
