Seat Bracket Help

So I recently bought a pair of Recaro Speeds and I'm searching for the right brackets.



I would've liked to purchase the Recaro brackets/sliders from HMS, but they've been back ordered since March.



Ideally, I'd like to be centered and have height adjustability (I'm 5'6").



Please share your bracket knowledge with me.

trust me....


i bought all of my stuff from HMS and they were trying to push me into vac seat brackets but i assure you the motion motorsport ones have way more adjustability, they are a small and awesome company. The eccentric mounts on the bottom help more than you think they would. If they had their floor mounts when i was ordering i would have bought those too but i went with vac for those.


i currently have recaro SPG driver, recaro SPG XL passenger, vac floor mounts, recaro sliders and motion side mounts and it works very well.


also of note. i'm 5'7 and it works for me. i spaced up the rear of the floor mounts with a few thick washers but other than that i've been pleased. But you wont be able to safely use a harness with the recaro speeds, the shoulder holes are way too low, that's why i went with the SPG's.

Thanks for the advice! I have a MM underpanel.


Unfortunately, the Speeds are bottom mounted. I don't think those will work for me.


I don't plan to run harnesses anytime soon, so the Speeds will work for me.

Try Planted mounts since your seats are not fixed back, was highly recommended by my local race shop.

Just a heads up on the OEM Recaro bracket from HMS. I ordered a pair from HMS and they were backordered. I called back every couple of months and they kept telling me they were a couple months delayed. I waited a YEAR, until I happen to come across a pair in the classifieds and cancelled my order.


I'm not really sure if they do have access to the OEM brackets anymore, or are just a the mercy of Recaro.


I klnow the pair I picked up were originally purchased from HMS.


If you can get your hands on the OEM recaro they work perfect!

Wedge is also an option but I hear they're slightly off center. I guess they can modify them, but not sure if I want to deal with that.

Damn that's a long time. I talked to a guy at HMS last week and he told me about the back order. It's definitely a bummer.



I'm glad they work well. Hopefully I can find a pair for sale in the classifieds as well.

I haven't seen any feedback on the E36 mounts, but I have for other cars.
