That's the plan - new bearings, 3.91 gears, and a rebuilt LSD. Jury is still out on how I want to configure it. I'm also going to rebuild the axles.

As far as other reinforcement - RTAB pockets and subframe mounts obviously. Will probably end up seam welding critical portions of the chassis as well.

Is there a particular shop/place that you take your diff for rebuild or do you do that yourself? Im kind of a noob, but what advantage exactly is 3.91 diff will give you?

I don't know the Chevy trans ratio, but with loads of torque usually you want a longer diff like 3.15.

I'm going to do it myself. There's a great thread over on BF that covers this (E36 diff thread).

As for why 3.91.....pretty much because of how the trans is geared. I'm going to be using a 6 speed trans - final ratio is .63:1 so I'll need a taller gear for me to really have a use for 6th at highway speeds. If I used a stock 3.15 unit, for example, I'd be at 2k rpm at ~80mph. 3.91 is a little on the aggressive side, but it's been a pretty popular ratio for guys that have done the swap in the past so I'm relying on their feedback a bit as well. I might end up with less, not really set in stone yet.
