I've had the GTS DCT version for over 3 years. I wouldn't ever want to go back. It's nice starting in D2 and immediately switching to a manual setting that rev matches when clicking the shifters.

Can you still get them? I looked a couple of years ago and they were NLA.

I saw a set for $600 I think on ECS! I got very lucky and got these second hand for $200. They're 9.8/10 basically new. They're so much nicer than typical plastic gloss or matte grilles. I realy really wanted to stay away from modding the grilles, but these black chrome, like I have on my X7, are so nice.

Well, I couldn’t stay away from ///M that long after I sold all my e46 M3s. Finally found my spec and just got out of MPorium BMW for Rod Bearing service. Not sure why that Rod Bearing service badge seems like a milestone lol. The journals and bearings were in great shape (VAC Coated from 2016).

                    Let’s go…

                        2011 LeMans/Black Competition Dct - totally standard. Sold it in 2024 to purchase an imola/imola e46 m3 zcp 6-speed!

So I was able to update winkfp and ncs with v69 datens that I knew contained both the DCT files (gts/updated u.s.) and the engine file I wan (240E/241E whichever one) with the BMW coding tool.

I decided to go straight to the ...69 updated u.s. file based on what people, including kaiv, have reported. My issue was never with shifting speed (how could it be, all settings and software are in the milliseconds), it was with its clunkiness or slowness to get into 1st or the lurching it would do in 1st I think when the clutch was finally fully engaged.

It worked flawlessly. And I'm very happy to report that it gets into 1st after backing up very quickly now, no lag. There's no drop in RPM and forward momentum when leaving the line in 1st, and the tranny has retained its noises and some clunkiness which I do actually like - I'm always after the feels and noises, don't want it too smooth and perfect. But I do have a small issue. Kevin, can you confirm this behavior:

The car is way more sensative to not being on flat ground or something. It will throw itself into neutral when I take my foot of the brake, and I don't remember it doing that before so much. Only if I had the door open maybe, it would throw itself into neutral and give that message about not being in "P".

Which I think is a stupid message - you can't even get into P anyway. The only way the car gets into P is when you turn it off AND remove key fob.

So I'm in a parking spot, in what I would say is fairly flat ground, and what's happening is that the car is running and it will not stay and sit in R or 1st. It will throw itself into neutral and give a warning. So let's say I want to back up. I put it into R (my foot is on brake pedal), then I take my foot off brake pedal and go to put it onto throttle and start to back up, but I can't becuase it's popped back into N.

So get this: I had to keep my left foot on the brake, and use my right foot to start to accelerate, then take my left foot off brake. That worked, it stayed in R, and I was able to back up. After turning the car off and restarting later, it wasn't exhibiting this behavior. But then on

a later drive, it did it to me again. I seemed to notice that it exhiited this behavior more often or more quickly when not on level ground, but it did still do it to me on level ground.

If I can't figure this out or if it bothers me enough, I might be forced into the GTS tune I guess. Maybe I can figure out how to code the module's behavior?

Edit: I did some testing with the seatbelt on/off. it definitely does it constantly if the seat belt is not engaged, so that makes some sense. But it is still doing it at times even with the belt buckled.

Also, even when it is acting "normal" and staying in gear, it's still making a GONG sound every single time I go to neutral. I understand a warning being a good idea of the door opens, like the driver is running back to the house, adn you don't want the car rolling away, but if all I'm doing is backing up (door closed, seatbelt on), WHY is it making a sound at me when I go to N then to 1st. So every time I move through N to get to reverse or D/1, it's gonna beep at me? So annoying.

Tyler: can't say I recall any changes in regards to that behavior on my personal car.
Maybe try doing a full relearn/readapt of the transmission. Dunno if it would have any effect on that but I do it on every car when flashing (for good measure) and no one has come back with any complaint.

Thanks, I'll look into resetting adaptations of DCT. IS that something you do with INPA or Foxwell/schwaben scanner tool? Or is it ISTA/P?

I'm also looking into coding out the warning at least, but not having any luck. Only found the line in KOMBI to stop the sound if key is in ignition slot(but not on) and door is open.
