    Scanner tool/software

Hello, I am new here and have looked in the forums as well as searched online and would appreciate some input. I own a 2013 BMW M3 convertible and looking for help on buying a scanner/software to be able to diagnose and repair my M3 by myself(where possible). Dealerships are clueless for the most part it seems and crooks. I have always worked on my own cars and having to diag/code/etc has severely limited me in doing so.

For instance, I have a headlight out and bought a new bulb and it still does not work and through research found it could be a headlight module also. I also have no sound at all and everything powers on.

Going to a dealership or indy(I don't know of any good ones in nw ga) would cost a small fortune in diag alone.

    Thank you for any help.

I use Bimmergeeks ProTool. Can't say it's the "best" because I legitimately don't know, but it has served the needs you've described. It needs an Android device (I use old cell phones).
