    Mss60 standalone for race car

    Dear friends,

I would like to ask if any of you could help me with a project I have in mind. I currently have a race car, an E30 M3 model, equipped with an S54 engine, and I’m using the original ECU. Now, I’ve acquired an S65 engine and would like to install it in my car, but I’m running into some issues with the electronics. It seems that these newer engines rely on more advanced modules, such as the CAS and EWS. Additionally, I understand that these ECUs work with a CAN bus fuel pump module, while my current setup only requires one signal from the ECU to trigger my fuel pump relays. Is that something I can do with the new ECU? Also, I have the MSS6 flasher and have already deleted the EWS from the ECU. Will that be enough, or do I need to do anything else to make it standalone?

Thank you very much for your help. I look forward to your responses!

There are a lot of things needed to make standalone. The ews delete thats floating around isnt enough, and is only for cars with cas module installed. There are many other things to get around to make it happy. Not having a CAS module also doesn't give the dme a body type, which seems to default to look for a secondary idle control motor. You will have to make it happy not having a ekp, brake vacuum pump stuff, as well as a few other things.
