Love how there's two different arguments going on concurrently.

    100%!!!!!!

I would unload every car to put toward a CSL in a heartbeat...but it needs to be the right optioned CSL. I stumbled across an IG post where there's a 176 mile RHD STRIPPER that apparently is for sale (and spoken for). Even though it's RHD, I can't imagine what it would cost to have (more than likely) the lowest mileage CSL in existence. Which makes me wonder what the price difference would be between a low-optioned car vs. a fully optioned car.

Point taken, this would be top of my list if I was one of those to whom money is no object, it would go to shows, be driven rarely and mostly sit and appreciate in value.

Now if I simply had that sum of money and had buy a single vehicle that's when things would change. But who the hell cares about what Cubie would do with $150K.

The people that will snatch most of CSLs that land in NA will not worry about 100 to $200k. They don’t care how fast it is or isn’t or how well it handles. Rarity and legacy is all that matters. A low mileage e39 M5 sold for 200k a while back. What does that make a e46 m3 csl worth to a collector? I think they could hit 300k easy if the mileage is low enough.

Exactly. Not to mention ignoring how the market works.

To be fair, every JDM car has a jacked up radio installed.
Simple swap to OEM, or even better with the block-off plate.

This is a very clean example and I’m sure will be viewed as a bargain in the coming years.

Very cool. But that radio...FFS. it’s going to be very interesting to see how long this lasts. First one I’ve seen for sale in NA. can’t be more than a dozen or so imported so far. These things are going to be unobtainium in no time. By the time they can be imported from overseas I’m curious what the price will be at. And once EAG starts to get ahold of them...forget it! Much deserved respect for this car though. I love seeing this.

Just checked and it looks like 90-100k EUR in Germany, with a comparable example at 96K EUR asking or 114K USD.

By that measure, assuming the dealer has listed it in CAD for the customary 15% over what they will actually take - it's in the ballpark.

Someone spent 90K on a modified 2003 LSB on BAT with a few CSL parts.. this seems like a better buy.

Is there an argument to make purely as a collector's buy at that price? I imagine thats what the seller is going for

170k CAD is still 137k in USD. that money could bring home an RS avant. Or, if bmw follows suit, a m3 estate.

If you had to have one car at that price range the choice is not a GT Porsche variant, you're doing it wrong.
