CSL Seat Model

I agree. The biggest thing for me is the ability to use a normal seat belt with the CSL vs the SPG's which isn't nearly as comfortable (pokes you if you put the belt through the seat holes) or safe (if you wrap the belt over the top of the seat). Since the CSLs are a million dollars the Cobra Nogaro are the ticket for me.

Have to disagree there but I guess it depends on one's body type and shape.Originally posted by Sharocks View PostAfter sitting in OE CSL seats vs. my Recaro SPG's or even Pole Positions, there is literally zero reason to go with the OE CSL seat style unless you really care about looks.
At that point, we start making fun of people like that.
The profi SPG is much more snug and a track only seat IMHO.
On the PP, the upper back portion of the shell curves forward which I find super uncomfortable with the lack of lumbar support on that seat. It's also more loose (wide).
I daily CSL seats and find them excellent and superior to both SPG and PP.

How much are they for sale for do you know?Originally posted by robgill View PostWas up at BMW Restored Seats (https://instagram.com/bmwrestoredseats) on Friday and Joni had a genuine set of CSL seats in the shop (they are for sale). Couple of observations:
- side by side with a pole position they are very similar. Shape is slightly different at the top.
- the foam in the CSL is awesome. Dense memory foam in the bolsters feels amazing.
- I still prefer the Sportster CS as a practical street seat
- the suede on the seats is a little shaggy, definitely thicker than alcantara.

To be clear, I meant the spg xl was a terrible seat for street use.Originally posted by rGTIedge View Post
Most of the recaros didn’t fit my shoulders, even in driving position. I don’t think I sat in an XL, but I assume I would have fit, considering they’re for people much bigger than me.
Ya, Sparco QRT-L is def not for a daily. It’s a total PITA to get in/out of.

Terrible seat for street use, but I bet you’d fit in the Recaro SPG XL. I’m bigger than you in every dimension, and fit fine.

Ended up with a Sparco QRT-L leather seat.

Funny how different it is for everyone. I'm the exact same dimensions as you and I feel like I fit in the CSL seats no problem. So many factors play into what fits and what doesn't for each person!Originally posted by rGTIedge View PostFriendly PSA regarding buckets- PLEASE make sure you sit in any and all seats you're considering! Thanks fellas, yeah, I saw Cobra doing this - must have been getting a lot of calls about them. Honestly this is probably the way to go. Less hassle and probably cheaper than what I went through.Originally posted by karter16 View Post
Lawrence does great work though if you're trying to go a different route - see for yourself:

In all cases (unless you're made of money and shipped by plane), the seats come by shipping container from England to HMS (when enough have been ordered to fill a shipping container), and then get shipped from HMS to either another company or directly to the customer.Originally posted by SUPREM3/// View Post
I remember seeing the link on here, I kind of assumed the shipping to Colorado would be absurd but guess I'll compare costs with the re-cover/material.
If the Munich version is out of the question, does anyone know if it's possible to order the Nogaros w/o the Cobra logo? Worth an ask but rather have blanks.

No, not for the Nogaros. What really differentiates them from other aftermarket fixed back seats is that they function properly with the factory 3 point belts.Originally posted by Sylverlee View PostFor safety reasons do you need harnesses rather than use the stock seat belts for these fixed back seats
Well, that and their willingness to trim them per customer wants at the factory.
