its almost as if this guys shtick is to trash talk cars and then "fix" what he thinks are the shortcomings so he can pat himself on the back about how smart he is and how dumb everyone else is for liking them in their stock form

I wish he was more like Ryan Schultz from E39Source. That’s the kind of OCD I can get behind. It is amusing how easily impressed he is by EAG though. Can you believe they sent him new floor mats after he spent $65k on an M3? The same “thoroughly vetted” one that he plans on replacing trim on, lol.

Ryan is a close friend of mine! He’s the man! I highly recommend visiting his shop north of San Diego in Escondido if you are ever in the area.

Oddly enough the E60 M5 I drove a few days ago had way heavier steering than the E90 M3 I drove it after. The E90 felt damn near electric it was so light-- the E60 felt very similar to my E46

The E9X M3 has adjustable Servotronic. Mine feels like a tank.

Sure, but E92m just feels like a lazier version of the e46m to me. One huge upside of the e9X is the sound. Steeeing feel of e92 isn’t much to talk about either. So not sure what other analog feel it has going for it.

Was watching Matt before OG was created. He had a Porsche and a white F80 M3. I liked the channel better then but happy for him and his growth. I agree he is not the most exciting to watch/listen to but glad someone with a lot of visibility is doing content on the car. Aside from keeping it clean I know it will be modded tastefully.

I think that is a fairly representative idea of the sound. You always lose some depth on video though. But if that is "simply awful noise" as you say then this is probably just another example of the divisiveness of the s54 rasp.

Sound great to me! I like the stock rasp as long as it isn’t paired with a super loud muffler. Very unique sounding car.

I mentioned the $50 part fixed 80% of the issue, not make it go away.

The post I was responding to, and I think even quoted, talked about a rasp terminator section 1 and an airbox. that's a $5k proposition.

Pretty sure the Eventuri/B-Line intakes give a decent enough induction sound. Combined with the $50 resonator, and we’re still no where near $5,000.

Looks like I'm in the minority here;

I enjoyed the stock exhaust note quite a lot as well; But wanted a bit more of "volume", so I went ahead and picked up a modified stock section 3 from a forum member (m3forum).

Basically same modification was done as the one shown in the video below;
