So... I think it depends where you live.

For my first 15 years of driving, I lived in an area with corners and no traffic (the country). Every drive was amazing, every drive improved my happiness with life, and I couldn't understand why anyone would DD a boring car. Then, I changed jobs, and moved... to an area with straight roads and traffic. There was pretty much no point to driving any fun car-- driving was bad either way, and cars that are good to drive are worse at sitting in traffic.

I changed jobs and moved again, recently, primarily because I couldn't stand the straight roads or traffic where I was living. I'm back to not wanting to DD anything that isn't fun. But, that experience did change my perspective on how people can suffer through all sorts of cars that I formally would have considered unownably terrible to drive.

It is SO good to be back in the rolling countryside-- now building a house in an area remote enough that doesn't even have a local police department! (so actually zero traffic law enforcement). It is amazing how much it improves my attitude and life happiness to come home every day with the car smelling like hot brakes.

Every 5th or 6th week, yes. Lol. I rotate my cars and drive them for a week, then switch. But I DD every single one of mine, yes.

!00% I live in a rural area in the rolling hills with tons of twisty country roads where I am completely unhindered by traffic. If I have to return one day to city life it will be back to a boring econo-box as I'm not down with fun cars in traffic and it pains me to beat up an expensive car. My last boring car was a 2013 Regal GS which was really an Opel insignia. It was nice to look at but yeah...

daily drive it without a damn worry. there's just something about its mechanical simplicity and durability that is just as attractive to me as a screaming inline 6 coupe. its even more appreciable in the rare occasion you do have to wrench on it, everything is so accessible and easy to remove and replace without dropping half the car out. parts are dirt cheap too.

That is a large part of why I enjoy our i3. 6 moving parts in the motor, one gear, manual seats, no sun roof... there's just nothing to break. 60,000 miles so far, with the only upkeep being tires and washer fluid. It doesn't even use brake pads/rotors, since the majority of the braking done is regen.
Also nothing to rust, since there's no steel. And no door dings in parking lots, since the body panels aren't metal.

... and since it's so stock, I don't worry about people crashing into me. WGAF.

The entire thing is stupidly low stress. The only negative side effect is it has made me annoyed about the gas buying process in the other cars... feels like a weekly inconvenient rip off :P

I just love to drive, but as great as the s65 sounds, and as nice as it is to have a newer car/better chassis, the driving experience is worse, probably moreso than E36 to E46 was. DCT is sweet though - I already have a great manual car and as I get older, don't always want to use my clutch leg.

That said, I DO already have a fun E46, so perhaps I should stop trying to fill that same role over and over (my last 4 cars: E36, E46, E82. E46). Then I start thinking maybe I'll get a 4runner
