I'm not sure, I haven't run it yet, though I’ve never been a fan of the rubber/poly strut mount, much prefer a spherical.
I'll try and take some decent photos this evening, I was just waiting on springs to put them together.

I'm trying to add as much comfort as possible to the R&Ts and want to change as few parts as possible. Parts list so far: 2.5in spring perches will be needed for the Turner Street plates, 340 Ohlins 7.87 springs, Ohlins front strut spacers and an aftermarket front sway bar.
I have MCS, not Ohlins, but I went with a 60n/mm spring (342lb) and I love it. I found 400 to be too much. My car is fairly light for a street car.

On e90, I have R&T ready to go and they come with the 60n/mm springs from the get go. With something like 680 in the rear, I think the rates Ohlins chose for e9x are better than the 400/628 they chose for e46.

I’m running 8” swift springs with no issues. You should be fine.

I’m running basically this setup. 7.5” length 2.5” diameter springs 350lb/in driver side and 325 passenger with Turner perches on their street plates, 3DM spacers, CSL front bar. It’s just about perfectly neutral with a square setup and hard to unsettle on track — and totally drivable on shitty New England streets on ZCP 19s. I did the typical 60% bump 40% droop setup for the front struts and ended up at 13.7” fender to wheel cap ride height. No issues with spring perch to tire contact with 9.5” ET35s. Can’t speak to the extra third inch length on those springs but doubt it would be a problem.

I know common 63.5mm springs still have enough material siting on a 60mm perch, but I don't know if Ohlin's 65mm sping being just a little wider makes that situation dangerous.

You could make or find, or have made, a thin steel donut that has 60mm ID and 65mm od.

Since the E46 R&T kit is designed to work with the stock upper front strut mount I am wondering if the front Ohlins springs are cone shaped, or is the lower perch as large as the upper strut mount.

    TIA

Definitely go solid on the e90. It solidifies (hah) the rear and makes everything more direct and predictable.

To bring things back on topic, stock vs stock, the e46 is better (imo). When modded, the e9x is tough to beat. Ohlins on the e92 resulted in the go-kart-like chassis we love about the e46. It made the car feel less fat/bloated.

I laughed the day I drove home from the shop after unmodding my e92. Having driven the car on point for so many years, I couldn’t imagine someone trying to tell me the car was “good” as stock.
