I had a few minutes to check today, I can see the throttle linkage is moving when the key is on and attempting to crank so that should be good.
I am also getting spark when I crank the engine but it will not start. I scanned it for codes with my generic scanner quickly and saw multiple misfires codes pending but none were current. I'll check to see if I'm getting fuel next.
Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Thank you for the Info. It would make sense the end of the ground loop sparking against the nearby head/exhaust as it may have been the source of the buzzing I was hearing under the hood.
I will dig into it today and see what I can find. I also hope I did not damage the DME.

In the old days with conventional coil, this end of the secondary coil was connected to the coil 12v terminal internally, but modern car coil packs have this end connected to the head for a good reason, but not this case, sorry.

This loose end of the cable would act like a spark plug and it was discharging sparks to any metal nearby, or any sensitive electronics and zap them. Luckily there is nothing sensitive nearby except the exhaust cam sensor.

I think that ground cable is for the ignition coil: grounding end of the coil's secondary coil. With a loose connection, it is harder to discharge the spark at the plugs, and this might cause the spark to discharge within the coil packs. I hope this didn't cause damage to the DME coil driver FETs (high voltage high current transistors). Check if it still have sparks when cranked.

HELP Fuel Pump Relay EKP/Engine Wiring Schematic

    Hello all,
I am looking for some help.
Long story short, I just finished with my valve adjustment on my 06, put everything together and went for a quick drive in my neighborhood. Car started fine, idled very smooth and ran nice for about a block from my house when I started hearing a buzzing sound from under the hood around 2250-2500RPM. I came to a stop and took off again trying to listen for that sound when the car died. Opened the hood and smelled a burning smell, it was dark but I saw that I forgot to bolt down the ground on the passenger side of the head (Pic below of ground I missed). I think I fried the throttle actuator but I haven't dug into it yet.

My question is, does anyone have or know where I can find the engine wiring diagram for the S54?
Anyone have any suggestions/ideas what could have burned up by not having this ground attached?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PROBLEM FIXED: the EKP went bad by not connecting the ground I had missed
