Hi--
I recently convert a e46 M3 from an SMG to a manual transmission car. The DME was coded by a local tech and the car/DME is now a manual transmission car. Before and after coding the clock displayed normally at the instrument panel display and radio.
One of the things I did after coding was to swap the original SMG transmission harness for a new manual harness. I swapped the harness because the original SMG harness was damaged by mice. Before working on the harness I disconnected the negative lead at the battery and observed electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist-strap rules. The swap was pretty easy to remove and replace. Afterwards, the car ran normally but the time displays didn't work, they displayed ** ll **.
I have a Foxwell NT510 Elite which allows me to test some of the clock adjustment button functions. The scanner and the display (12 hour(AM/PM)/24 hour) respond to the push function of the adjustment button, but digits do not display forward or back just the dreaded ** ll **. Can anyone point me in the right direction and help me fix the clock function?
Thanks,
