With a engine build, you want it done right with the least amount of variables. Pick 1 builder, discuss specs, let them handle/source the complete build.
Yeah I figured that would happen, I want to spend as little as I can at once, I will most likely ask to slowly piece things together, then once all the parts are done, I'll have them build it. I would assume that'll work

You’re in Sacramento... I just noticed that 🥴. Valley Motorwerks is a builder of cars for the following road race class:

I’m hoping I’ll be able to consult him in my build without him making me pay, Id figure it’s around 10k for the majority of parts, the only thing I would really want him to do is block work like bore it then, balance and assemble it.
then again that may be tough, and he might not do that. I’m not trying to write out a $20k check when we can outsource and save $3k and slowly buy and add parts and just pay for one off custom parts and labor.
Everyhting should be completed and swapped into a car by December, I have time and out sourcing will just be cheaper and work better to save money and to not waste it on one big check.
i would hope someone like fletcher would understand and be ok with that, but I’ve never dealt with engine builders or much with this industry before.

Thank you to all those that have been kind and have helped along the way, it’s very much appreciated. I went in with little knowledge and that’s why my expectations were so high, but I have learned and gathered the information needed to go along with this build. I now know a doable path and what can work and from this moment out I will be talking with engine builders. I feel like this thread has ran it’s course. If anybody would like to put additional information or knowledge of some sorts in that would be appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Anthony

In one of previous 40 build ideas you wanted to go with aggressive cams but retain vanos. Any reason why keep vanos? If you are basically building a racecar motor for highest NA power (after you find the right balance between 12k rpm, 100mm stroke and 14 compression).

Also high vs regular lift camshafts (12.5mm)

Anopther build idea: 14mm 288/280 inconel valves, stainless steel intake valves, port and polish, 12:5:1 compression, 87.5mm bore, E85, ported Throttle bodies, 3.4L, 8300rpm max, 3.84 diff

I still want to throw out ideas and get ballaprk figures , if I were to go higher compression with some E85, 13:1, built head, inconel and stainless valves nad pair that with high lift big duration camshafts and a 87.5mm bore, whats the torque loooking like, Itl would be paired to a 3.91/3.84 diff

well see what he says and what his opinions are, if he is good for the price and the build then I will go with him, I am already leaning towards him
