Rear Bumper Sag - Retaining Clip

Here are some pics. Just realized the drivers side, the gap has gotten a bit wider. May have to take clip out and bend it a bit. Passenger still looks perfect. It's probably been 10 years since I put them in.4 PhotosLast edited by Avusbluem3; 04-27-2020, 01:48 PM.

I am using the clip OP posted to fix the gap in my rear bumper. Since not all models have the stud, we cannot use the hook clip. It does work but you have to clean the dirt and indercoating from the rear fender and also clean the bumper for a tight fit. I also bent the tang's (fangs looking) out a bit to give it a better bite. You'll see what I mean when you mock it up. As you close the gap between the fender and the bumper, the pressure will also help keep the clip in place.
Will try to get a pic. The part with the teeth goes on the bumper.Last edited by Avusbluem3; 04-26-2020, 08:28 PM.

I wish there still were pictures of how those silver clips fit. Looking at them, I'm having a hard time seeing how they work.

Thank you for the replies guys. I don't seem to have a bolt on mine either.. I Just checked.
Pulled this thread and appears others don't have it either https://forum.e46fanatics.com/showth...=661057&page=3
The thread I remember on m3post had that silver one Tbone posted holding up the bumper to fix the issue.

Hey guys, I just did this a while ago. There's also a little silver clip that holds the very edge of the bumper to the body.
Maybe for people who don't have the stud? You'd need this one too (part #3 in Ocean's realoem link):
RoyalFlush: I think that part you linked is for Non Ms or some other car perhaps.
Here's the silver one from Real OEM https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-clamp-51127164686
Super cheap, so if you don't have the stud, give it a shot? I bought both, but I have a stud, so I was able to use the black "hook" clip.

Jack up the rear end an it will be apparent on how to install. However, tends to start to sag again after a while. I'm going to have to look and figure something out for mine as well.
It is part 20 from https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_4783

Rear Bumper Sag - Retaining Clip
Hi all,
I remember there being a few thread on this on the M3Forum. From what I remember there is a clip that BMW sells that helps retain the rear bumper near the fender area.
My M3 bumper is sagging and won't line up 100% with the fender and my OCD is getting the best of me.
From what I researched the part number is 51124015053.
Has anybody successfully installed this to remedy the issue? If so how does it clip on? Anybody have pictures.
