I brought my head to get machined and everything went really except they removed .003" off the head surface. I'm already switch to 12.5mm lift cams and now there's a little bit less material. They ignored the paper I gave them stating not to machine the head surface but I'm not going to make a stink if it's OK. .003" is .076mm which is about 50% greater than the allowable plus or minus .05mm. I'm not happy about this but I think it's OK. Would a thicker headgasket be necessary at this spec? I am just mainly worried about the valve clearance. I remember a few of you going through this previously on M3F.
