THE M3 IS GETTING THE ANRI BUILD TREATMENT - Blown headgasket to build thread

Got some things done at Unique Auto Films in Tarzana, CA (in the valley) - the owner of this shop is also an e46 M3 guy and is on here as well, thanks for everything Raj!
- Added spacers 15mm in the front and 10mm in the rear
- New M3 badge on the back
- Side grille emblems replaced
- Side repeaters replaced
- Arm rest delete
- Shadow trim gaskets replaced, fixed all the wind/rattling I was hearing in the rear (my passenger rear window was loose for years from a previous owner, fixed that as well)
- Ceramic coat and paint correction
- 50% tint all around (mainly for UV protection of interior)
Also realized a insanely rusted Y pipe for fuel evap under the passenger rear wheel well cover, will post more on that once I get it replaced next week. Absolute PSA for any east coast car like mine is, holy F am I glad they removed the liners to check my subframe and then discovered that piece completely rusted out. More to come on that.
Highly recommend UAF to anyone in SoCal and in the valley (they're in Tarzana) - they take phenomenal care of my car and anything cosmetic I need done, they're the only ones I trust!
Next up is some more work from Anri, won't say much for now but really looking forward to fixing some previous owners error on the car that I've lived with for yearsLast edited by ChapterM3; 03-11-2026, 07:46 PM.

No real update to report - took it out in the canyons a couple weekends ago, coolant temp was at 72 degrees the whole time, car f*cking rips. Went to Staples the other day, came out and just love my car, so I took this picture. There's something going on with one of the brake sensors I think under the ABS module, got code 5E265 Control Unit: voltage supply, sensors - and my DSC and BRAKE light are on, but then they go off sometimes. It'll get figured out but for now, I'm just loving my M3 and thought to share. Sometimes I think about what new car would I get besides this? And the answer is, I wouldn't. There simply is no replacement for this amazing vehicle, I love this platform so much. Happy Monday guys!
Edit: Update on the 5E26 code - This has been solved, was both brake pressure sensors under the brake fluid reservoir - https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/m...elp-diagnosing

Right, when car is traveling at higher speed with good air flow through radiator, but as OP reported that at speed the coolant was only 78C and so no reason for the clutch fan to lock at this cool temperature to cause the fan noise. So it must be the case that car moving at slower speed and the efan running with AC on.Originally posted by bigjae46 View Post
Could sometimes be possibly running in certain specific situations if the correct parameters were met at some point in time.
OP said "and 78 C degrees while driving. "

My concern is that spreading false information as fact (whether on purpose or not) does a disservice to the community and some members may not realize and then regurgitate it as fact.

Sorry, had to bold your thought.Last edited by Anri; 08-12-2024, 05:26 PM.

Yeah man I totally hear you - I appreciate your input though as always, and please don't take my post as somehow dissolving the conversation - I am 100% with you to not have disinformation going around, just wanted to make light of it!Originally posted by George Hill View Post
I see what you did there, lol.

*Edit, this is my last post on the thread though. I'm super glad that this has turned out favorable for the OP, that is not always the case anymore.

Bruh...I thought you would have learned by now. I'm a little disappointed in you.Originally posted by George Hill View Post
Yes, you are wrong to say that. You do not know which fan was running. You literally said he's wrong and you are right even though you aren't there while he is. Just because the A/C is on doesn't mean the e-fan is on. /thread.

With the AC on in hot summer, it's 100% sure that the efan was running, unless his AC broke.Originally posted by George Hill View Post

Also we are not sure what OP said about hearing the clutch fan running with AC turned on -- was he idling, in traffic jam, or driving at high speed. I don't think the clutch fan is audible at 850rpm idling even if it is total locked up. But I'm sure we all care hear the efan running at high speed with AC on in the hot summer.Last edited by sapote; 08-09-2024, 12:13 PM.

No one saw the clutch fan spinning fast while seating inside with window closed. And with the AC on, I'm sure the efan was running fast and so how one be able to say the it is the noise from the clutch fan.
Here is what I wrote in response to OP: "What you heard is the efan running and not the clutch fan. "
Am I wrong to say the efan was running with that noise and not the clutch fan?
