I used the AMP Autowerks kit. Excellent machine work, all necessary parts included, and excellent communication.

Odd that people would spend their money with people who hate them and don't want or deserve their money.
There are numerous threads asking for “shop recommendations in my area” — in reality, we need a “shops to avoid near me” thread.

I went with AMS. They did a good job and the car shifts like it should. With that being said their communication with myself and a couple other members was just ok, not stellar.

I haven't had them do my SMG to manual conversion yet, but I have Lang do all my work on my M3. I have nothing but good things to say about them, apart from them being a bit more expensive than some other shops. I've dealt exclusively with Daryl, and he knows his stuff. Very straight shooter, doesn't try to sell you anything you don't need.

    There might be someone local.

  • SMG to manual Bellhousing Conversion Service - AMS vs VAC vs Lang Racing

I am gathering parts for the SMG to manual conversion and need to decided where to send the bellhousing for the machining and detent + springs installation. Google helped me find AMS, VAC and Lang Racing but maybe there are others worth considering? Any pros or cons to go with one company vs the other? VAC is quite a bit more expensive than the others.
Working...
