I purchased it with 4,400 miles on the clock. Just turned past 5,000 miles last week. It's a hoot to drive and the 8,900 rpm redline is pretty impressive for a V10.

I just realized, as an added bonus you can see my daughter's 2006 330ci ZHP in the reflection on the bumper...

Strong move. That’s a fantastic setup. We need more v10s in the world.

My brother bought a brand new BMW X7 M50i a few months ago (to replace his couple year old X7 M50i), the thing is amazing even for a big ass dumb SUV. Credit given where credit is due.

I have been thinking of upgrading my x5 35d for an M. I was looking at the f85 x5m but the maintenance and reliability scares me. The x3m seems to be more reliable and less headaches while providing all the thrills of an M car.
20x9.5 +15 and 20x10.5 +20 with 275/40 and 295/40 Nitto Nt555 G2. The ride is better with the 20s for sure. I also have KW V3s which improved the ride tremendously. They really transformed the vehicle, I highly suggest going that route. I don't miss the EDC at all.

I love the size of the X3M. It feels exactly the same interior size as my old E53 X5. I haven't driven the newer X5s but I can imagine they feel bigger. The S58 is amazing. You do have to wind it up a little to get the power but once it's in boost it's a rocket. I haven't tracked it yet but it's as fast as just about anything in the canyons.

The X5M and X3M are very different cars, despite looking similar on paper.

The X3M feels more like a G80 M3. The S58 is very, very good.

The X5M on the other hand, feels much larger. You can really feel the weight going around turns and stuff. The V8 also gives a way different experience. MUCH more torquey.

Depends on what you need and how big, but I sold my X5M and picked up a X3MC and I have no ragerts.

2016 GT4 - My canyon / weekend toy. Truth be told, the e46 is quite jealous as I barely drive it these days. Thinking about converting the 46 back to daily duties so I can enjoy it more Click image for larger version

Agreed, it's a lot of fun stock but should you change your mind, a few bolt-ons with some ethanol blended fuel really elevates the whole turbo experience IMHO

Nah, I'll keep it relatively stock, it's got a charge pipe, catch can, and exhaust. I threw some eibachs on to close the front fender gap a little. It's a lot of fun as is. I would like to put some M2 comp seats in it, the ones with the orange stitching and perforations would be perfection. The F8X seats are so good, I have some cloth ones in my e92.
