I wasn't even aware of 485designs as a company, the price is negligible for the pipe considering RE's is ~$900, the welds look a lot cleaner too. I'd be interested to buy a unit if Nick is willing to make another batch, I'll keep in touch with you 9kracing

My car has the best parts in terms of build quality, I don't skimp especially with anything cheap. Learned my lesson early in life with Megan Racing parts for my SR20DET 240SX. Absolute trash, the welds always cracked over time. In terms of the exhaust for the M3, I haven't settled on one to be honest and nothing looks appealing except the Titanium Dixis and that's a dream at this point. I actually just bought some 30mm tips I plan on installing on the OEM box since it's quite a decent system for being OEM, the tips will help blend with the CSL diffusor. The weight is what's killing me, so I'm going to spend ~$900 for a full titanium rear box and see if it's a decent tone, weight savings alone is worth it assuming it doesn't sound like a tin can. Worst case scenario I sell it on Facebook and reinstall the OEM system.
Yo how did it go? I’m on the route to try and get my m3 to a “true dual exhaust” this of course was after I ordered an alibaba dual resonated sec 1 & x pipe sec 2. All SS weld quality was pretty good. Moving back to the bay end of aug would love to hear your experiment.

Fits fine, you just wont have any cats or anything to screw your rear O2's into anymore, so just disconnect them and tune them out.

It doesn't eliminate cats on US cars bc they aren't in the section 1. Pretty simple.

Does this mean the equal length section 1 they're selling for $800 has cats?
    From their site:
    • This item does NOT eliminate catalytic converters on US vehicles!

So does this mean it will fit, but not really equal length on US Manifolds?
I'm interested in this, mainly to test it. My Section 1 was has a non factory tube welded in that doesn't look factory, it still has the original factory resonator. I'm assuming pervious owner had 2nd resonator, and at some point it was put back to a "stock" configuration.

I’m curious about this RE ELS section 1

Can someone explain how this will not rob power?
With such aggressive bends how will it allow exhaust gas to flow? I’m not an engineer, so this is a real question?
To an amateur like myself it looks like it would create an obstacle for the exhaust to get through

I’m not sure if they’re NLA.
i looked and the site I purchased them from last spring has them as “Pre Order”

Same here. I hope the rasp sound is maintained if not maybe better sounding. Add Karbonius as planned and this may sound like an absolute beast induction wise.

Will be interesting to see if the equal length section 1 does enough to offset the lack of cats, and titanium material, both of which would likely increase the rasp and be much louder.

Followed up with the supplier, it's not going to be in CA until May 😂. It's on the slow boat from China with the rubber dog shit in tow.

    1. Karbonius CSL Intake
    2. OEM Euro headers

In terms of Section 1, I've been researching the equal length pipes that Sunbeam sell and since I've bought a few Rogue Engineering parts, I'm going to jump for their equal length rasp pipe, really curious about the sound. With that said, any suggestions on a section 2 or should I leave it OEM? For shits and giggles I'm thinking of ordering a full titanium exhaust from AliBaba, just to see how the tone works out with the rest of the system.
Awesome I have been planning this route as well. Interested in how the sound turns out depending on the section 1.
