I’m game to do a test if it installs without dropping the rear end! Alternatively we can take some detailed measurements of the stock shaft against the modified one to verify you got the dimensions sorted out with the last go around. I moved down to SD a few months back, it’s been a long time coming!
Awesome yeah, either works. You have to rock the diff backwards to install.
Hah, when did you move to SD? I thought you were in the Bay. I can go grab you a non-telescoping CF driveshaft and take your donor shaft to the drive shaft shop in Garden Grove for the conversion. Or you can test my already converted CF DS.

At 252k miles it finally shit the bed, cylinder #6 has 50 psi of compression and was blowing clouds of smoke out the exhaust. Now I need a donor to swap my cams etc onto. 😮💨
I’ve also got a spare e46 M3 driveshaft in San Diego right now if we’ve got motivation to knock out another..

Ok all, I'm back to working on this. Scored an LCI telescoping CF driveshaft for $200! I am planning to shorten it to work on my M2. I will also be giving my CF driveshaft to Sharocks to test on his Dinan S3R since my E46 M3 needs a new motor and uh I need to source a new one and find someone to install it properly.

Yeah, would be awesome if someone could condense this 27 page thread into a single post with what you need, benefits, and shops that have successfully done the conversion.
Please. I still have one sitting I'd like to have altered to install. I didn't go with the fixed length version, which I thought was the better option…hoping I was correct
