The BMW M3 GTR from Need for Speed™: Most Wanted is now a reality. EA Games is celebrating 30 years of Need for Speed™. To mark the anniversary of the genre classic, BMW M is presenting a one hundred percent real version of what might be the most famous racing car in the world. The BMW M3 GTR built by BMW M Motorsport and featuring the livery from the game will soon be on display at BMW Welt München.
Remember Professional Sportscar? The FIA Le Mans McLarens? Panoz? They're all here, along with vintage racing and SCCA. iSpeed features hundreds of photos of classic road racing action from the 1990s.

I visited PTG three times in 3-4 years, arranged by BMWCCA. They campaigned the E46 M3 for BMWNA until the end of its time in ALMS. They also hosted the BMWNA historic race car collection. All of that was transitioned to Rahal IIRC in ~2007. The PTG shifted to a Panoz focus. I'm not sure what they are doing these days. IIRC there was a name change (?).
PTG had ~8-10 when I visited. Some were in BMW factory livery. Others were in private team livery. Turner ran a pair, so they probably had 3...maybe four.
Keep in mind that PTG was shipped stripped gray chassis which were then further stripped for weight and built up from scratch. Suspensions and brake systems varied among them.
This doesn't count those raced in Europe.
Are you able to visit PTG? Or do you have to know someone?
Hi there, I am trying to find out how many GTRs ran in the ALMS?. PTG, BMW works and Schitzer all had teams I think. is there a register somewhere. Not finding one.

A friend of mine drove for Milner and got his feet wet as a team owner from him. Pretty sure when he was a driver it was E36 though. Tommy Milner drove the Z4 M my friend had in Grand Am back in '08, not the whole season but a few races. I got to see the PTG shop but much later on, when it was Panoz. Some of the shop photos actually look familiar.
